Should parents be jailed if their children have access to their firearms and use them in a shooting?

Should parents be held responsible if their kid takes their firearm and commits murder?

The school shooters parent is being charged. This is the second case in a shooting that I know of that the parents are being charged in connection to the murders. Is this just or not? Should parents be held responsible due to kids getting access to their firearms and committing murder?

Depends on if the parents made steps to keep the firearms locked away and secured. Some kids know how to get around their parents. These kids aren't toddlers happening upon the weapons, they actively sought them
Exactly. If I had guns and they were secured in a safe or safe room, I’d hate to face charges because the little **** broke in.

Too many variables to answer.

We had full access to firearms at age 12+ ……. Of course I was raised around them and spent a lot of time in a gun store coming up .
We knew safety !! I was driven into our heads and minds from an early age. I had to display safety every second we had a firearm or my father , older family , brother, etc., would jump all over me !!

Your kid has been questioned by the FBI in the past for threatening to shoot up a school and you supply him with an ar15 rifle, hell yes. You should be charged with the full murder rap, perhaps even more than the kid, those people would still be alive if you did not put that gun in his hands. And if the "gift" was before he was questioned about the threats you still should have made damn sure he did not have access to a firearm.

  • Colin Gray gave his son an AR-15 style rifle as a gift, two law enforcement sources said. It's unclear when he gave the gift, but it was after authorities interviewed the father and son last year in connection with threats to carry out a school shooting,

I grew up in a home where they were on a gun rack & my grandpas was in his closet. Back then you didn’t touch them without dad being there teaching you how to shoot.
It’s called discipline, for the guns & for your parents.
There is a uge crisis in America with mental illness & drugs. We need to fund that instead of giving billions to Ukraine and other countries.
