Should parents be jailed if their children have access to their firearms and use them in a shooting?

IMO.

Definitely we as parents, we’re completely responsible to raise correctly our children and keep them educated and keep them away from firearms even away from the keys of the cars until the get a reasonably aged to understand the consequences of the actions.

40 woulda been a good age for me. Coulda saved me 30 years of child support payments.

We knew better. Nothing was locked up..at any of our houses..whether it was family,or friends house. We just KNEW better! You didn’t go in your parents bedroom,UNLESS they were in there. If you did… you’d get dat azz beat. Simple..consequences..

Back in the day a parent would wear a child a$$ out for doing something they were told not to! the child feared doing sometging wrong knowing it would re never a whooping later.

Today is time-outs and therapy! Yea the kids have no reason to worry about punishments.. Thank you DFAS!

The school shooters parent is being charged. This is the second case in a shooting that I know of that the parents are being charged in connection to the murders. Is this just or not? Should parents be held responsible due to kids getting access to their firearms and committing murder?

No THEY SHOULD BE Executed at the place of the shooting

Prosecution and conviction are two different things.

In this specific case I'd think prosecution would be justified, the parent could plead guilty, or find out what a jury thinks.

Like everything, it depends on the facts. Did dad help plan it and hand the kid the gun? Did he leave the gun in a ****ty cabinet with an obviously "off" kid? Was it locked up in a safe and the kid cracked it? All very different things. Aside from the first option, certainly shouldn't be charged with murder. Perhaps negligence.

We definitely don't need any "safe storage" laws. That's what they'll be pushing for. That and red flag. Probably other things that would also not make a difference. Stay tuned.

Out of curiosity, how many men have you shot with that have been shooting 60 years?

It was tongue-in-cheek. Hell a 1/3 of shooters that old got the beetus and near blind and half of those only got one foot!

Most of the fogies at the range out here don’t even shoot, they just lay their guns out waiting to tell me supressors are illegal and the 1911 is the only gun worth shooting. 😂😂😂😂

I've read that Dad admitted the kid was addicted to playing video games. No doubt of the first shooter variety. Fits into profile of teen spree killers.
