I've read that Dad admitted the kid was addicted to playing video games. No doubt of the first shooter variety. Fits into profile of teen spree killers.
Mom is a drug addict, Dad’s a dumbass who gives a gun to a kid who he knows has a severe mental disorder…no telling how many of these time bombs are out there.

Owner of the Discord site? People who created and sold violent video games?
Gay teacher who recruited the kid to the dark side?
Gay/straight student bullies?
Mass media propaganda promoters?
Lots of rabbit trails to go down if we want to assign blame…
I’m guessing who the parents are in this thread…and the ones who have never borne the responsibility, blessings and burdens of parenting.

A lot. Most have bad eyes.

It was tongue-in-cheek. Hell a 1/3 of shooters that old got the beetus and near blind and half of those only got one foot!

Most of the fogies at the range out here don’t even shoot, they just lay their guns out waiting to tell me supressors are illegal and the 1911 is the only gun worth shooting. 😂😂😂😂

Lighten up paw-paw! I wasn’t talking about anyone in particular. It was a joke if you couldn’t tell.
So was my comment, junior… if you couldn’t tell

Parents should raise their children as they see fit because you can not accurately form an opinion on someone you know little about. That's the parent's job. In the case of the present shooter, it appears the mother divorced the father to marry the government. Wasn't the mother the party responsible for securing or making available the carbine? The father could not if he was not allowed around.

Or was it the FBI agent assigned to groom the kid? Or whoever prescribed a growing boy psychotropics? It's hard to keep track.

The father in this case should be charged because he had to no that kid had issues But on the other hand I have seen first hand where family's have a few kids that are all pretty good kids all raised the same way then you have one that's just no good for some reason My dad had 3 brother's My dad and 2 of his brothers were good men then one was just crazy in and out of jail his whole life couldn't even trust him in our house What I trying to say blame the parents for the way there kids are is not alway's true There is a black sheep in most family's
True, but you don’t give the black sheep access to a weapon…

The school shooters parent is being charged. This is the second case in a shooting that I know of that the parents are being charged in connection to the murders. Is this just or not? Should parents be held responsible due to kids getting access to their firearms and committing murder?
No

The last thing this country needs is more ****** laws. Let me start there. We need better citizens. Guns weren't shooting up schools when I was coming up and they were all over campus.

If your kid (maybe bullied, maybe gay, maybe whatever) has made threats to shoot up a school, you as a citizen, keep unsupervised guns out of his reach. Period. Sure you can give him an AR for his birthday, but you keep it secured and y'all use it TOGETHER. Your kid needs supervision.

I answered yes to the poll. To clarify, I was answering the more focused question of this particular instance. Sure there's time to gather more information, but given what has been presented so far, there appears to be culpability here. No man can truly know another man (or child here) but if the FBI (even this FBI) comes to your house to discuss threats your kid made, the environment around your house should change. It's your responsibility. Could your child still otherwise obtaine a weapon? Maybe. You owe it to your community as a citizen to keep YOUR weapons in the right hands.

Maybe we are running low on citizens. Without them, a republic will falter. More laws won't make a difference.
