1. If you've never watched a kid with ADHD grow up then maybe you should read up on it. They're not all school shooters and SSRI's might be the only thing that saves them. They recommend physchologists, training, education and medication. Guess which one would be the first choice on a 14 year old kid with a crackhead mom thats in and out of jail and rumored to be bullied in school for being gay.
2. You're an ignorant father, trying to get by, who loves his boys and would do anything to make them happy. With everything that's going to hell in your life, a visit from the fbi about an idle threat on a video game doesn't strike as much fear in you as it does to the feds. What the f... do they know. We have adults on here that want to take both the "mf'ers back to the scene of the crime" and shoot them. Hope you're not "gamers". Could get a visit.
What the father did was wrong and he should go to jail for it but this kid didn't have a chance.

If you have a dog that is known to be vicious and you allow it to run around loose, should you be held responsible when it attacks and kills someone?

By that argument anytime your kid does something wrong you should be held accountable. Car accidents, fighting, drug charges, theft. And when does it end? When your kid is 18, 21, 40? They are charging the kid as an adult so he’s old enough to be charged as an adult, but the dad is still charged since his son is a child? Government playing both sides of the fence here.

They have the dad charged with 2nd degree murder. That’s absolutely ridiculous. Let’s keep this game going, and charge the teachers, FBI, local law enforcement, and his bullies for “driving” him to take the actions he did.

I didn’t know…what would you want if that kid walked into the school bathroom and dumped a few 5.56 rounds into your son or daughter with the rifle his daddy bought him after knowing he wanted to shoot the school up?

If I take a moment to contemplate that I come to a simple conclusion……

Don't disagree with any of that but the question in this scenario was should the parents be held responsible. It is not about the kid or his chances in life. In this instance my answer is yes.

And by your argument you should be allowed to spawn worthless trash and then have no responsibility to raise them properly. If not your responsibility then who's? The Government? The (government) school system? Right and wrong is something that should be learned in the home. Not the schools.
I swear some of you would be the first to say that you don't want the school system teaching your children about gender choices, sexual preferences etc, which I fully agree with but in that same line of thought, why would it be OK to expect them to learn right from wrong from that same bunch.

I know appearances can be deceiving, but in the courtroom shots of the dad, he does not appear to be the sharpest crayon in the box. Couple that with a bat-**** crazy wife and it's a wonder he ever made any good decisions in life.
