Alright troutman I skipped dinner tonight and now it's definitely too late for me to make this! Ugh!!! Gonna have to try this SOON!!!
That’s some fine dining right there. Three of my favorite things, beer, shrimp, grits. If I could get it served by a Hooter chick then I’d have died and gone to heaven.View attachment 1729895
Mmmm...shrimp and grits and cold IPA. The good thing about homemade S&G is all you can eat. The bad thing about homemade S&G is all you can eat.
Maybe it's a payback for the marinade you posted a while back. That is my go to for pork now.
5 pcs bacon
2 bell peppers
1 onion
1 lb smoked sausage(I prefer andouille, but it's to spicy for the family)
4 cloves garlic
1 1/2 lbs shrimp
All purpose flour
Heavy cream
Chicken broth
Grits
Cheddar cheese
Green onions
Chop bacon, cook, set aside
Drain 1/2 drippings
Chop peppers and onions and sweat in bacon drippings
Mince garlic and add to veggies
Cut sausage into 1/4" pcs and add to pan
Cook for about 10 mins
Sprinkle flour over top and cook for about 5mins
Add 1/4 cup heavy cream
Slowly stir in 1 cup chicken broth
Season shrimp with salt/pepper & cajun seasoning
Add shrimp to pan
Cook grits with chicken broth instead of water. When done add 1/2 stick butter, 1/4 cup heavy cream and 1/2 package shredded sharp cheddar.
Spoon grits in bowl and shrimp mix. Top with chopped bacon and chopped green onions.
A heavy iron skillet works best for cooking shrimp mixture.
