Sidearm when hunting/fishing

I think I'd STILL want a .45 handgun bullet to expand, to rip a wider wound channel, and to create more sideways shock (hydrostatic shock-- and bigger, wider bullets displace more fluids to the side).
But it's true that this means giving up some penetration.
What do the ballistic gelatin tests show for the .45 ACP defensive hollow-point loads that you're considering and can get now in this ammo-shortage time?
