Sig M400 Tread Handguard

I recently purchased the Sig M400 Tread. I have come to find out that even when zeroing the rifle the manufactured handguard get hot. There is one alternative handguard from Sig however,( https://www.sigsauer.com/store/handguard-m400-tread-enhanced-13-inch-mlok-blk.html), like most Sig products; they're proud of it. Any suggestions on alternative handguards that are compatible to the weapon system?

The problem as I remember correctly with the M400 tread is it used a proprietary barrel nut that you will inevitably destroy to remove.
But once it’s off it’s a standard AR upper and will take any number of rails on the market.
-now personally I don’t feel like $150 is a lot of money for a rail and you maintain it being “OEM” but you may be interested in the offerings from Midwest, or aero that will be similarly priced or members here always have good prices

You are better off keeping the rail that’s on it and getting a rail wrap.

That is true but to be fair this is the rail that OP has on the rifle and due to its lack of ventilation I think other rails would perform better

Get it Gucci milled. Lightning bolts and fan blades milled into it are cool in form and function.

Milling and dremmel don’t go together haha.

All rails are gonna get hot. Get a rail wrap as Booshie stated or some rail panels
