SIG P365 in 380

Same size, weight, capacity, and cost as the 9mm version. Uses a “less effective” caliber that costs more, and isn’t as available. Magazines are more difficult to find, and you don’t have a larger XL version to get higher capacity mags from.

The .380 version uses a lighter recoil spring than the 9mm version. In my opinion, the difficulty of racking the slide between the two calibers is negligible, but it’s possible that the difference is enough to matter to the right folks. The .380 P365 still isn’t as easy to rack as the 9mm or .380 S&W Shield EZ, but it has other advantages over the EZ.

Most companies that load both 9mm and .380 ammunition do so on the same machinery. 9mm is by far the most popular handgun round in the US. When ammo goes crazy, do you notice that .380 is the round that disappears first? That’s because those companies quit swapping back and forth between .380 and 9mm, and buckle down on loading only 9mm ammo. The little bit of 9mm ammo that’s on the market dries up quick, and no one is loading to replace it.
