Simple delicious treat!

Buttered saltines

Heat oven to 400

Take 1 sleeve of saltines and place them flat side by side on a baking pan. Melt 6 tbsp of unsalted butter. Brush or drizzle butter on saltines. Bake on center rack for 8-10 minutes or until they start to brown.

That's it. Absolutely tasty on their own but top them with whatever you like.
Never had’em that way. Gonna try it real soon. I can eat a whole sleeve just dipping them in milk..

Bet they'd be good made like
cinnamon toast. Ya know, put
some cinnamon in a sprinkle
jar then add sugar & shake it up.
Sprinkle on buttered bread
(crackers in this case). Broil for
bread if want bottom side soft.
Dang, ya'll making me hungry

Had to make some with peanut butter and marshmallow last night and hot chocolate!

You had me until you dipped them in milk
When I was a young youngun, my grandpa would get us a glass of milk and a sleeve of saltines for a snack. I watched him dip them in milk for a couple seconds and eat them. He didn’t have any teeth and it softened them up so he could eat them i guess. Back then ( late 50’s ) the saltines were a little thicker and the milk was raw. I’ve eat them that way since and …I have teeth! lol
