Yep just looking for an old beater , just something I can throw on my hip that will keep us safe . No safe queen needed , scratches scuffs rust hell I don't care as long as it fires and won't fail ! : )

Sorry for your divorce and the always present financial woes that accompany such an event. I suggest a 9x18 Makarov. There are great little weapons and you can find a decent one for around $200 if you look around. They are absolutely dependable and a very good caliber. Ammo can be found fairly easy and it isn't too expensive either. These are, IMO, some of the most underrated handguns ever made. If you acquire one chances are you'll keep it even when you do upgrade.

Keltec, Taurus, or old beat up semi-auto or wheel gun.
You need a low cost, reliable defensive weapon, not a pretty safe queen.

If I needed immediate low cost defensive weapon I'd be happy with an H&R
single shot 20 or 12 ga. Pull the hammer back & fire.

Hang in there, lots of guys been through similar situation and most survived it.
Even worse when you have to sell your dog.

Thanks for all the kind words ! Just want to stay safe and carry to keep my daughter and I protected . Money is tight and I know there are options . Hopefully I can grab something soon . I feel naked without my pistol .

I left my ex wife a s&w .38 .....plenty of rounds and she has a hand print lock box by the bed . I couldn't leave her there with my daughter unarmed . Some friends said I should have taken it but I did not feel comfortable taking it and leaving her with no protection .

I've seen Ruger P95's for $250. I've shot one but never owned one. It seemed solid and dependable.
