Aside from shooting a suppressed 22 and using your thumb to hold the slide shut... Has there ever been a semi-auto firearm designed with the ability to completely lock the action for a single shot mode for ultimate noise reduction (eliminate any action noise)

For 22/45, the TBA MK II Bolt Lock

Also, there is a slide lock mod for the Beretta 21A

For Beretta M9

Unless the suppressor is using wipes, I don't think the report is any quieter for anybody but the shooter.

I put an adjustable gas block on my 8" 300 blk to be able to turn gas off, will work great with a can like the VOX with the wipe.

I wish the MOA Govnah was still an option, would make switching the gas off simpler.

I can turn the gas off on my Adams Arms piston AR's (both 5.56 and 308) and they are like a single shot. They will also short stroke if you try to shoot them on suppressed mode without a suppressor.
