Where the stars at night are big and bright.
Well dang.
No clue if accurate.
Plenty of scorpions around here. Never thought twice about assassin bugs.

I want to know where 10 people a year are getting eaten by wolves so I can never go there and what the hell is an "Assassin Bug"?

I don’t think we have assassin bugs in the SE. and our species of scorpions damn sure can’t kill you. I think I’d rather die of a mosquito borne illness than a hippo or elephant. Damn.
I got malaria in the Philippines from mosquitos and I agree. For 10 days I thought I was dying from fever, dehydration (nothings stays in) and screaming headaches but a hippo munching on you or an elephant stomping the **** out of you would definitely be worse.

We got plenty of assassin bugs in the southeast. The species they're talking about that carries chagas disease is not native here, but is sometimes brought here by "migrants." Some of our common native ones, like the giant wheel bug, have very nasty, painful bites. I would rate them much more painful and persistent than any bee sting after getting hit by a couple over the years.
