Ok, so I got this Chinese SKS last night. None of the numbers match. But I don't think it's a home-build. There are no Chinese markings or stamps on the receiver or anywhere else besides the 2 I found?

Is the scope mount base factory? As in, added on by the importer? It looks too good to be done by Bubba. Where can I get the rest of the mount?

Any and all info is appreciated!

I've never seen one like that. Your sks has a threaded in barrel so that's one good thing. I have a factory Norinco side mount scope mount but I don't think it hooks up like that. I will take a pic of it and post it.

Thanks for the info! Is there an advantage to a threaded in barrel? How can you tell?

Look where the barrel goes in the receiver. It is flattened off so it has threads. The newer ones have a pin on the bottom and are round on the top. The pinned barrels are fine but the threaded ones are better.
