Small kid rifle recommendations for a 13 year old

It's time to show my oldest the ropes, I believe she's finally responsible enough to handle a firearm well. She's been around them all her life so I'm actually wary of starting with something like a cricket because I want her to enjoy plinking with me. The biggest thing the kid has shot is a bb gun. She's 13 and has a small frame, a bit late to the party but I wouldn't let her shoot until she demonstrated taking responsibility for her own actions, which she finally does.

Good Ole 10/22 should do the trick well. If you want something with a "cool" factor, get a S&W 15-22 for semi-auto. If you want something a little "safer" a Ruger American .22 is a great choice as well.

Either a Ruger 10/22 or an AR15 with a 22lr upper. Both will be easy to shoot and still have fun with.

I was looking at the Mossberg 715T because of the $199 price tag. Will take a look into Ruger as well. I don't shoot small caliber normally but wouldnt mind some extra bonding time and the break in ammo cost.

The youth model with a 16" barrel and shorter stock, and fiber-optic sights.
It's easy to reconfigure in the future as she grows in size and skill.
