This Saturday there will be two Smallbore Rifle Silhouette Matches at the River Bend Gun Club. One 40 shot Standard Rifle match and one 40 shot Hunter Rifle match. Match start time is 1030 a.m. with practice starting around 9 a.m. The matches will run rain or shine. The firing line is covered. Match will be on Range 13, Rimfire Range. Go to River Bend Gun Club site for range map and more information.

Course of Fire

While the NRA allows for several different courses of fire,
the matches at River Bend will be 10 shots at four animals
at different ranges for a total of 40 shots as follows:

10 Chickens at 40 meters
10 Pigs at 60 meters
10 Turkeys at 77 meters
10 Rams at 100 meters

...

standard velocity ammo only.

For small bore hunting rifles, the weight is capped at 8.5 lbs.
The barrel has to be tapered, not a bull barrel. Not exceeding 26". No muzzle accessories. Stock cannot be a thumbhole type or special ergonomic stock. Trigger weight must be 2 lb. or greater. Scope can be any power of magnification but there cannot be more than one and a half inches of space between the bottom edge of the scope body in the gun's receiver.

I have a Ruger 10/22 that almost fits that definition, but the stock is a Fajen Legacy, which counts as a thumbhole. I may see if I can put it in a Hogue overmolded stock.
