Smith & Wesson mfg date

Yeah, google is useless. I have the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson and would be glad to help. There are other who would be glad to help as well.
You will need the serial number that is located on the butt of the frame, the model number on the yoke or crane, (can't be seen unless the cylinder is open), although if it was made before 1957, no MOD number will not be stamped there. And lastly, pictures, pictures of both sides of the Smith, with the grips on and off. It helps, especially on old models, to verify what model it is.
You can post your information in open forum, or shoot me a PM. While some make fun of these revolvers, calling them old an antiquated, I find them to be very viable weapons. Guess there is no accounting for taste! lol

Fine, but put it in open forum also. I am not an expert, so having others view the gun will give you a better idea of what is it.
