Snake... What is it? Good or Bad?

Found this in my back yard.... If the wife sees it... it is dead....

If it is a "good" snake, I will let it go over the back fence....

Let it go, or bring to my house and let it go! That snake will eat all the bad snakes you got around your place.

black rat snake i think

i doubt its venomous but dont get bit to find out!

Just looked it up and from the photo possibly a black rat snake, not sure though.
