Dogs starting going nuts yesterday. Followed by wife who was in the backyard trying to read a book. A LONG king snake had made his way inside the fence. He was doing his best Cobra and then Rattlesnake imitation. Pulled the dogs off so he could eventually get back on the other side of the fence. Vacant lot with really high grass and woods behind me makes it a snake haven. Very happy to have big King on the patrol.

(On an unrelated note, just saw a coyote chasing a buck. I wasn't quick enough. )

Me and the local critters have an understanding.
Deer - They show themselves, I enjoy watching them.
Snakes - They show themselves, I enjoy watching them.
Coyotes - They don't show themselves, I won't shoot them.

Saw this by the pond at deer camp a couple weeks ago. King snake eating some other kind of snake after drowning it. Snapple turtle took a few bites too
