Cabelas/bass pro whatever you want to call it is only 10 mins or so from my work. We got rained on so I had some time..anyway went on over there to see if I could find some 77gr 556 to try out.

That place…at least the firearms side, is an absolute JOKE. It’s like that restaurant you go to and everyone is purposely RUDE, doesn’t pay attention to you and sets the prices ridiculously high. (there is a real restaurant like that, it’s themed that way).

I digress.

I know I’ll get some comments about “Well ya where you been” But I havnt been in so long. It hasn’t changed a bit.

Every. Employee. Looked. Miserable.

The gentleman loading the shelves in the ammo aisle was really cool and helpful, though. He said ever since BassPro bought Cabelas out or whatever it’s been a downhill slide.

Welp. I ain’t going back!!

I went to Moe’s for lunch yesterday. Did the order on line so I just went in and got my salsa options dipped up at the self serve counter. Didn’t get the “welcome to Moes” but after about 10 min, one of the employees said “are you wanting something to eat”. I told her I had an on-line order. She said “you know we just opened right?” It was 11:20. I said well you open at 11:00 right?

Too much stimulus money, extended unemployment benefits, so-called disability pay outs, food stamps and welfare are keeping the unemployment rates low. Along with the 10’s of thousands of 18-40 year olds living in the parents basement, employers are stuck with a poor pool of employees who know they won’t be fired, could careless and have zero work ethic.

Hopefully the whole thing will come crashing down next year and they’ll be standing in line begging for any job they can get. Pain train has got to come to town before things will change.

Bass pro in Macon isn’t too bad. Gun counter is bad, but only bc the employees gun knowledge is based on fuddlore.

They have a ton of ammo and the ammo prices have dropped some.

I agree about retail workers, though. Vast majority definitely have a case of depression. It’s sad.

Last time I went in Acworth they were straight dill weeds! I would go look to see if they had something in reloading I wanted. Only went for stuff I didn't need to talk anybody about. If the price was close I got it because it was one exit from the house and ordering would have come out the same with shipping. That last visit I was done when I saw the sales staff hoarding and stuffing all the good ammo behind the counter as it was coming out of the cart.

The Bass Pro merger ruined that Cabelas. It went downhill fast. They never have enough staff, the store is clustered with crap products, and the stuff people actually want isn't in stock, but... they'll always have that one obnoxious person there selling timeshare trips!

I bought a Baretta A400 from them online and had it shipped to that store (because they were out). Went to pick up the shotgun, and they only had one guy working the gun counter. One employee took over an hour helping a shopper look at the scopes and two other employees walked by completely ignoring me even when I flagged them down for help. All I had to do was fill out the 4473 and go. Wound up going to customer service and asking them to refund my order completely. Customer service didn't want to take the return, since it was gun related, but I hadn't filled the 4473 out and was absolutely done with them. The store manager wound up having to get involved. I swore I'd never shop there again. Now, I just meet friends from ODT in their parking lot for deals haha!
