So, how'd the storm go for you?

Made it home in 40 minutes, went down to the range and made a fire, came in and watched a movie with the fam, then went to bed toasty.

Just saw couple guys passing out sandwiches and bottled water in their dime. Why isn't FEMA parked in northbound lane offering anything? They did declare SOE yesterday

Sometimes you have no choice but to work. I work in the schools in Atlanta and they did not cancel school. It was a foolish decision by system administration, but we had to work. They dismissed middle and high school kids early, but didn't release the elementary kids until regular 2:30 dismissal time. It was too late by then. As a result the older kids got home OK, but many of the younger children were trapped at school. More than two hundred kids spent the night at school. The roads were to slick for parents to get there, and too slick for buses to get out. I got my own kids and took them home. I left their school at 6:00 pm and finally got home at 4:00 am. So I do not agree that the thousands of people who got caught in this should just laugh and blame themselves. The woman who had the baby on the highway, and the heart attack victim who couldn't get the help he needed, would probably second that notion.
Be Safe

FEMA? lol. They aren't out because FEMA is a useless bloated government agency.

Now, now - I am sure there will be press conferences and commissions set up by FEMA to figure out what executive orders should be issued to let the feds take over road maintenance entirely. And then make municipalities actually do the work. After consuming the majority of the tax dollars raised for that purpose.

Just drove to work and back up here around Lake Lanier (12miles). Mcever road is not that bad. Plenty of traffic getting around. Didn't run over and check 985. 53 through Oakwood is in good shape, Walmart is open if anyone needs anything. Told my employees to just stay at home. No need to chance it.
