He's from the Humane Society so I'm sure he's a mix of everything. Cute little guy but he's really not catching on to going to the bathroom outside. Who has some tips on how to condition him to know that inside is bad and outside is good?

I have a Rottweiler and an adoption pup from the Humane society as well. Both are cute as the dickins. Rottie is a little over a year and picked up training extremely fast. My boy? Not so much. Now hes only about 7-8 months but hes just now starting to get the hang of it. Definitely crate train. They will cry and scream at first but trust me use the crate. Also boys take longer than girls.
He's fine in the crate and sleeps in there at night. The problem is we'll take him outside, walk him, play with him, etc. for a long time. He has ample opportunity to pee or poop anywhere. Bring him back in the house and he'll just stop and whiz or poop anywhere. He gets in trouble and gets taken back outside but he's just not making a connection. I may be expecting too much or he may be a little stiff-neck, or both. I've always adopted grown dogs so I've never really had to deal with a puppy before.
It's what they do, keep working on it.
Take him out every 20 mins. No joke. Sucks for a while. But he will get there. Pics of the pup ??

We need pictures of the puppy. I found it works to NEVER go inside until he uses that bathroom. He will learn to start going outside. It sucks, because it is cold, and wet, and sometime 4am, but if you want a trained dog, suffer now. Or suffer all his life
