So if I register my braced pistols are they legally now rifles?

In some states you cannot legally carry a loaded rifle in a vehicle but you can carry a loaded pistol. So does a registered pistol with a brace actually become a legal rifle since its a registered SBR or is it still legally considered a pistol? What do yall think?
