When I was a younger man I'd have said it the same way. I HAVE to.
As an older guy I see it the way captdave does and that's really how it is.
Some things get more clear with age.

The bike culture in Cali is stronger than anywhere else so, who knows, you might even like it. The climate is wonderful and not every city is an East LA or Compton. Anyhow, taxes and politics suck, but if you're a young guy, it won't hurt you as a stepping stone in your career. It could ultimately lead to bigger and better things, and possibly (hopefully) somewhere else.
And don't sell any of your guns until you know you're staying over there for a while. Unless you need the cash. I wouldn't go amassing a new Cali-compliant arsenal either. Those things have terrible resale value in Dixie land.

May be getting re-located to Irvine, CA.Bleh. At least it's Orange Co and I can get a carry permit for my sweet 10 rd mag having (insert gun make/model here).
The carry permit is pretty time consuming to get in Cali. My brother in law is a Maj in the Army and had to spend a few days and hours in a class to get his carry permit. Even then he had to wait a while for a rinky dink permit. They made him register his 2 pistols and there was a few more things but I can't remember. Needless to say, he moved back to GA last year.

At least Hawaii has enough decent scenery to be worth going. Couldn't live there though, myself. Too expensive...too many stupid laws also. If your not into tourism you can barley eek out a living there I bet.
