I can tell you this about 7.62x39 vs 223 at 200 yards on running hogs you don't want a 7.62x39 for it . Had the 7.62 running 2475fps ,and the 223 running 2750fps .It did not sound like a huge diff when I first thought ,but it is all the difference in the world .
Why not make it legit? Try the below CMP service rifle course of fire for this here battle of the already tested 1,000 times argument...

So I'm going to ask a real broad question here: If the AR(M4) platform is so unreliable why does our military put it in the hands of our frontline soldiers?
Ok so how about riding mountain ponies wearing a toga with a football helmet on shooting your rifle of choice in the rain with a tool belt and California framing hammers and fat max tape measures shoot in gangsta style at balloons filled with cheese whip at 210.6789 yards?
