Have to see where this goes. This is a seriously messed up situation. I'm surprised they didn't say theybdithey tell you to turn it in until the situation was resolved.
Hopefully the dealer will be quick to help get everything straightened out.
 
So does your serial number not match your can, or does the other "owner" not have the correct serial number? Are there two suppressors with the same SN, or has the other "owner" not received his stamp yet?
 
I would go to the people who sold you the silencer and ask for their help resolving problem.

"ATF says it is not mine even though I have a form 4 saying it is mine."

Assuming the store filled out the ATF form for you. Either the ATF has made a mistake or the store did. Better to get some cooperation and possibly some monetary and possibly some use concessions while the new paperwork is inching along.

If you went to court and proved the store screwed up. The best you could do is actual costs plus court costs. Nothing to be reimbursed about the almost year long wait to get said product.
