Social Security phone Scammers
Scammers are pretending to be government employees. Scammers will try to scare you and trick you into giving them your personal information and money. They may threaten you or your family and may demand immediate payment to avoid arrest or other legal action.
DON'T BE FOOLED!
IF YOU RECEIVE A SUSPICIOUS CALL:
1. Hang up!
2. DO NOT give them money or personal
information!
3. Report the scam at OIG.SSA.GOV!

They will hardly help in person either. I went into the SS office in Athens one afternoon and nobody was in there but I still had to take a number an wait. And then there is the Athens post office.
Gainesville office, went in took a number and 45 min later it came up and the guy I saw was only seeing me to make at apt. to see someone else that could help me, freaking shame.

These scum called me on my sail fone. He wanted me to buy some money orders and give him the numbers over the fone. I kept him on the line for 35 minutes while I supposedly drove to the bank to get cash from ATM, and then to the store to buy the the money orders. Then I told him to EFF OFF, laughed at him and hung up. I'll bet that scammer was pi$$'d that he spent all that time on the fone thinking he had genuine sucker only to be trashed.

Gov't workers will NEVER call you.

True enough. They are either sleeping, eating or watching porn on their government funded device.

When I worked for the State of GA downtown 20 years ago the standard joke was....

Do you know why State workers don't look out the windows in the morning?
Because then they wouldn't have anything to do in the afternoon.
