I think some of you are missing the point...and that is fine.

The point is: unless you are in the 100% zone, you cannot look directly at the eclipse bare-eyed.
Even then you have just minutes depending on where you are.

You will have 0% chance if you are in the 99% zone.
No big deal. I'm going and packing a lunch!

I have heard that the public library is giving away sets. I briefly looked on Amazon but, most were selling multiple sets rather than just one.

Picked them up at the university. MAny Astronomy/Physics departments at Georgia universities are giving glasses away to the public, as a public service. call up your closest school.
