Depends on the gun,some have such shallow stampings that color fill just wont stick, RIA is one of those that is very difficult to do.

Since I build plastic models I used Model Master Enamel on my M&P. to clean it off after I painted it used a cloth with a little lacquer thinner (test this on a unseen section first) on a cloth.
This picture was taken right after it was finished so there is still a little residue on the slide, it's all gone now.

Just found this thread. Guess I should spend less time looking for ammo.

I have an old beater .380 I am going to sell but I think I will colorfil it and maybe it will bring more money. ;-)

Kinda like washing your truck before you put it out for sale.
