The truth is that anything that was canned correctly is good indefinitely as long as the seal is not broken. I've eaten C-Rations that were over 30 years old.
Spam is never enjoyable......
Saw a documentary several years ago on the canning industry. According to the show, as long as the can is not bulging or has a leak; canned food will never spoil. It will lose it's taste possibly, but still edible. Showed a guy eating a can of unknown meat that was over 100 years old.
Was he in part 2 of the series?
No, but he was looking a bit under the weather at the end. LOL
