Spotted a new Ford Ranger "in the wild."

Those of you saying these prices are crazy and nobody will buy them are living an illusion. Ford sells more F series trucks than any vehicle in the world. People are paying these prices every single day. If they weren’t the wouldn’t be pricing them this high.

The market will bear what the market will bear but starting salaries are much higher than they were when you could buy a brand new 4x4 F-150 for 20 grand.
Starting salaries are higher, but buying power is actually lower due to continued devaluation of the dollar.

Scary people are paying that but we are living in a world of debt minded masses.

I’d rather settle for a super clean 2006 FX4 long bed crew cab turbo diesel 4x4 with 200,000 miles for $11,500 cash.

It's kind of amazing how pickups have inflated over the years. Today's F150 is the size of a 250 from the 70s and 80s. And that new Ranger looks like what used to be a full sized pickup.

And given those prices, it's no a surprise that car makers don;t want to make sedans anymore. There's no way those would have the same margins as one of the pickups discussed above.

Here's the closest pics I could get of some from back when I started working at the port. All these were headed out of the country. It's too bad because all these were base models with 4WD and mostly regular cabs. Some were diesels. That's the one I wanted.
