I have read the stories on here for years about how great the Springfield TRPs are.
I finally found myself without a 1911 govt in 45 and saw a TRP on here for a good price. It is the only normal priced 1911 that I have seen that is as tight as a custom fit from the factory. It was actually binding a little when coming out of battery when I first got it. After about 600 rounds and a polish of the high spots showing up with a mark up of the barrel , it feels as slick as any custom gun.
I hope I run across one of these one day in 9mm or 10mm at a good price if they make them in those calibers.

Their EMP and ronin line in 9mm are the same way, tighter than any non custom I've ever fondled. I've got an emp4 CCC and it's quickly become my favorite handgun.

I have one in gray and blue finish with bull barrel and its an awesome gun

They make the 10mm in a 5" and 6" slide. Someone here is selling a 6" setup, I think, for a good price. Everyone is going after the 10mm in the longer slide.

Springfield makes a fine weapon in the 1911 market. Either the A1 loaded or TRP model are really good guns. I have owned four or five of them. The last one I had was a 10mm TRP Long slide. Great shooting weapon. I got an offer I couldn't pass up. Plus I had another 10mm Long slide. It's a Remy R1 Hunter completely rebuilt with Wilson Combat and Ed Brown parts. I will own another Loaded 5" job in 45 acp. after I recover from this last build. Kinda went overboard with it.

Enjoy that piece of fine machinery!

I was a big fan of the long slide until I spent some time with a 5” gun. Now the 5.25 and 6” guns seem foreign. I am considering selling my 5.25“ 2011 DVC’s. They even seem weirdly long for just .25 inches. JMB got it right with the 5”. If I try to master one it will be 5”. Strangely enough I have a 5” gun with a threaded barrel and I cannot really notice a difference when shooting it. It only seems to be the sight radius that throws me off.

I have had probably eight 5 inch 45's from S&W, Springfield, Remington to the cheaper Taurus PT1911. I can feel the difference between 5 inch to the 6 inch and I dig it. Groups much tighter at distance and recoil management is better. I guess that what makes the world go around. Different strokes for different folks. It's all about what feels good from shooter to shooter.

I let a decent deal on DVC pass bye about a year ago. I regret that decision

Congrats on the TRP!

My TRP is fit just as well as my DW Specialist, and it's actually blended better at the beavertail, extractor, and frame/slide interface at the rear. Phenomenal pistol all around.

Mine is a newer production, but already a discontinued model (PC9108L18). The newer iteration of mine is CA compliant, though I'm not sure what changes that entails.

I do prefer the older TRP rollmark at the rear of the slide, though the new rollmark is very clean and simple. I'll let it grow on me.

I really want a TRP! I've shot the 10mm Operator version. Great shooter!! Cant go wrong with Springfield 1911's for the money. When I really hit the jackpot, I'll grab a Springfield Professional!!
