Stag grips help needed

With all due respect, Sir, he's looking for grips for the Vaquero.
The grips on the .41 are probably sambar, like you said. Sambar hasn't been imported for years, thus the high prices. The old ones that you find won't fit a New Vaquero. It's different.
If you buy elk horn grips, the makers say don't try dyeing or coloring them as bad things can happen. Personally, I like the elk horn but some people don't.

Slept on it last night & decided to go with red stag- they're $175 vs the sambar grips that I like at $400. I'm old school & never used eBay or gunbroker but found these for the New Vaquero:

Oh...and thank you all for suggestions. That's why this place is so great.
Check the north western states. The actually have anuall elk horn hunts. Those hunters make all sorts of items. It may not be pure stag per say but it will look the same.
