I heard a big money guy on CNBC yesterday saying Bitcoin has replaced gold for an alternate investment.. Could have something to do with the precipitous drop?

Bitcoin and other cryptos have been great speculations, but in the end you have just another currency with no (zero) inherent value.

I think the money guy was referencing the popularity of Bitcoin vs. Gold.. By no means did I feel he was endorsing it, or was invested in it.
