Starting a bolt trick

Might be a good idea to run a nut all the way down before sawing..That way when your done you can back the nut off and it will clean the threads. Just a thought

Never understood folks that take old grimy bolts like that and put them right back in regardless of what they’re doing. I always run them under the wire wheel on the bench grinder and they look pristine damn near every time.

Saw this a while back. Doesn't this weaken the bolt if under any type of stress?

Once my bore brushes are too worn out to use on guns anymore they go in the tool box for cleaning out threads.

It only takes 30 seconds to clean out a threaded hole with one and then clean off the bolt that goes in that hole.

It makes life so much easier the next time I have to remove that bolt.

That is one that I never would have thought of. I like it, I don’t think I would use this trick while putting a new hitch on my truck but I can really see using it. Ain’t YouTube great.
