Starting next year, Jan 1 you will need a permit to use WMA ranges and facilities. Looks like $20 / year and up. You will need to purchase a permit online, and furnish to the DNR with your birth date and drivers license. Don't know how I feel about that. After all the taxes I pay, you waqnt me to pay more $ and give you my DL number and personal info. What do you guys/gals think?

All public park prices went up for activities as well. They can't raise the millage rates on properties as easily as they can charge/raise the charges for activities that only a select sector of the population use.

I dont mind the price. Its the private info I mind. You dont need to have that documented for me to shoot there.

It's my understanding that if you have a WMA stamp or a Sportsmens license you're OK.
Heck you have to give your social for a hunting license. They use it to check for child support deadbeats.
I think it's about time those who use Ga. DNR ranges and wildlife management areas quit getting a free ride on the backs of the states sportsmen.
If you're gonna cry about $20 a year then never go into an indoor range. You can blow 3/4 of that in an hour at a facility that's not nearly as nice or outdoors, and most of them want to hold your drivers license. You probably don't want to try to join a gun club either.

I don't mind. The local range is unpoliced and unmanned right now but I love it and would have no problem shelling out 20 bucks a year to use it. Maybe they could fixt the outhouse. ;)

As for my DL info? I gave more than that for my GWL. As long as they don't start asking what guns or any info on the guns(SN's etc) I'm fine with it.

I stop at the range outside of Cochran to shoot, after seeing the improvements and personnel that have been added I want have any problems with it. As for personal info you are supplying that when you get a fishing licence already.

this is why i dont fish! gobberment is trying to keep track of people who live off the land so they can label them as "terrorists"
