State of Georgia shooting ranges, need permit

I preferred the old socialist system where tax dollars from the citizenry paid for the ranges,a nd they were available to the public. Damned capitalism is sneaking in.

I don't mind. The local range is unpoliced and unmanned right now but I love it and would have no problem shelling out 20 bucks a year to use it. Maybe they could fixt the outhouse. ;)

As for my DL info? I gave more than that for my GWL. As long as they don't start asking what guns or any info on the guns(SN's etc) I'm fine with it.

wow. Not going to happen. your not getting my DL or personal info. Pass!

You can bet they will. As far as I am concerned there are many other places to go, but nice try on their behalf.

I wasn't really objecting to the fees, which for the facilities is a bargain. I was more concerned with the DL and personal info they want. Having been a victim of ID theft, I don't want to fork it over to every government body.
My ID theft was courtesy of the government. They F'd up based off everything that happened at that time.

Income and property tax dollars have not paid for the DNR ranges. They are courtesy of revenue from the sportsmen of the state. Maybe some tax funds from the Pittman Robertson act but those are also primarily sportsmens dollars too.

If you want to worry about ID theft then you may want to run your name through a couple of the internet info mining sites that put public info into unbelievably detailed packages about you.

I usually have a wma stamp so I'm not worried about it maybe it will keep some of the drunks and kids out that trash so many of the places if not it will give them an extra ticket when they get caught and most likely a polite warning for others.

I don't know why people worried about their DL information that's already available...glad to see a better option than $5 per vehicle..hopefully will cut down on those trashing up the place...

About time this came down the pipe....hopefully it'll help keep all the damn irresponsible, non-sportsman jerks off the wma ranges. We all know the ones I'm talking about too for those that have frequented these ranges.
Of course, being an avid hunter with a lifetime GA hunting license, this fee doesn't apply to me!
