State of Georgia shooting ranges, need permit

Wonder if they'll have a multi-year veteran price break. I've still got 18 more years on this drivers license. LOL!

As if the state doesn't already have your drivers license and personal information. Seriously, if ANY form of government wants to find out where you ate supper last night, they will. Last I checked, you go to the STATE to get your license, it is also the STATE who owns the WMA. How does this not make sense?

They won't be getting my money and information. I don't like going to WMA ranges anyway because you never know what idiots might be there. I prefer shooting on private property where I know and trust the other people that are shooting. Then again good ol Ft Benning will probably take that land... so I'll just be SOL.

On the bright side, if they police the ranges and write a few tickets for violators it will cut down on the idiots just dropping in.

Private property would rock, but since I have no access to any I am thrilled to have a WMA range. Thanks Georgia! I'll gladly chip in for the use. BTW, as has been noted, Georgia already knows all about me so I ain't skeert. ;)

Starting next year, Jan 1 you will need a permit to use WMA ranges and facilities. Looks like $20 / year and up. You will need to purchase a permit online, and furnish to the DNR with your birth date and drivers license. Don't know how I feel about that. After all the taxes I pay, you waqnt me to pay more $ and give you my DL number and personal info. What do you guys/gals think?

Isn't the wma and state parks seperate from the federal and state systems? Thought that was one of the richest bank accounts in the government because they're not allowed to tap into it? Oh well, 20$ a year to go shoot at a WmA range? Hell that's worth the money to me. They don't charge hourly fees like business ranges charge so it's a very small fee to pay.

People weren't loyal in putting that $5 in the envelope....
