Ok this just hits me kinda funny when STI was around they had a decent following but it wasn't on everyone's want list I had seen them go to half price and sit so fast forward they changed their name to Staccato and now they are the most popular thing going I don't get it but it goes to show it's all in the name, maybe if Canik changes it's name to something more exotic like Kanikeo and Glock to Glokacititio they could charge double and and have everyone fall for the name change?

STI were making a whole variety of single-stack 1911s in addition to the 2011. Then, it seemed like every company was suddenly producing 1911s at one point. I guess it just made more sense for them to specialize in that niche they find themselves in today. And it worked.

I said it before in another thread and I’ll say it again. You can laugh and say the effects of mainstream pop culture on product recognition isn’t real but it is! Lol. Having a product that can even half ass live up to mass exposure is a bonus! Which I believe Staccato does.

John Wick = Staccato known world wide. lol

STI double stacks were always $2k+, even 20 years ago when that was more money than it is now. Their single stacks were 2 tiered, the spartan line (Basically made in Philippines and imported by them) and Trojan, which were made by them.

The Edge, Eagle, and variations were 2011s after they spun off from SVI (I believe they are the I from SVI but I forget). They made double stack guns based on the 45acp magazine that were great, only finicky if you tried to get max capacity by screwing with the mag springs and crap.

They rebranded and went practical/tactical but their stuff generally works. They were the first to mass produce 2011s in any real way and brought good single actions with solid capacity to the general public.

No. In both John Wick 1 & 2 he used Glocks mostly, largely tuned up by Taran Tactical. Wasn't till the 3rd he got a 2011. It's also one of the first movies that shows actual 3 gun style shooting and loading, which was practical, even if his gun-fu is not

Crazy part, Taran Tactical ripped off a nighthawk design and put in on a marauder and quadrupled the price.

Look up nighthawk agent 2 then the original TTI John Wick STI.

Doesn’t matter which movie he used it in. The effect is the same brother.
