Stone cold killer? Blue Heron

So I happened to look out the window today and saw a Great Blue Heron with this bream in his beak.

he apparently decided that it was too large to eat so he left it.

I occasionally see them stalk baby ducks at the wetlands by my house. That is one wading bird I hate seeing.

We found a great blue dead on our back creek...Beak to the chest I'd guess. Then a new one took over our pond.....

I have heard you can put heron decoys around pond because they are solo feeders.
