Store firearms away from home ?

Anyone store any firearms away from home? In like a safety deposit box or anything. Maybe I’m paranoid, but I worry about theft or a major fire and I have just a few family heirlooms, that are not replaceable. Mind you, these firearms are not worth anything substantial but they are worth a lot to me. I have a safe already, but I think I’d like to store these firearms offsite if at all possible. Any recommendations?

I’m probably paranoid, but in a catastrophic loss, I’d hate to loose everything.

I have stuff stored in more than 3 places that I can get to regardless of what is happening. If I lose control of my home, I have a way of arming myself to take it back.

In safes at both homes and revolver and ammo in a nice small water proof buried on the property

A good safe is probably your best bet. After the feds robbed multiple safe deposit boxes back in 2021 (iirc) and literally stole millions of dollars of valuables from random citizens I wouldn't trust a safe deposit box with my dog's yard decorations.

When I lived in California a lot of people used large diameter pvc pipe to bury valuables as you could glue the ends on or use a screw in plug with ptfe thread sealer if you want access and the pipe is water tight.

I agree with others: a good safe in your house. Maybe hide the safe

Some are just thinking of an “extra place” to stash stuff.
Kind of a “Not all your eggs in one basket” type of thinking.

I do keep some of my firearms at the shop.

I keep a Hi Point 40 pistol and 4095 with extra mags and a light mounted to the carbine at work.
