STRESS Course, May 19, Aragon GA

Precision Applications, LLC will be holding a Stress ThReat Engagement Skill Shooting (STRESS) Course on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Aragon GA.

Course will start at 8am and run until 5pm with a 1 hour break for lunch.

The entire day's events are designed to force the shooter to engage targets with both a carbine and a handgun, at a minimum, while being subjected to various physical and mental stressors and performing a myriad of challenging tasks.

This course is designed to push the individual student to their limits and outside their "comfort zone". It is a physically and mentally demanding course, but the drills are designed so that, for the most part, the individual student can perform within their physical limitations and at their skill level.......although this is not to say you ain't gonna be pushed! Our goal as Instructors is to push YOU to YOUR individual limits, and at times a bit beyond. Not everyone is an Olympic-level athlete....... you aren't required to be, we don't expect you to be, and you do not need to be in order to attend this course.

All drills will use a combination of multiple threats, “no shoot/friendly” targets, targets partially occluded by hard cover, steel targets, moving targets and more. This is NOT a “plant your feet and shoot on the flat range at a single target” class!

Topics covered will include, but are not limited to:
-Effects of stress on the body
-How to counteract these stresses and train to minimize the effects
-How to best perform under the stresses you cannot get rid of
-Combat Mindset
-Carbine ready positions
-Shooting while moving
-Shooting from either shoulder

Gear list:
Carbine with sling
Minimum of 2 reloads for the carbine on your person
Handgun with holster. A certain level of retention is not required, but the handgun must be retained under physical exertion.
Minimum of 2 reloads for the handgun on your person
500rds carbine ammo; no tracer, armor piercing or incendiary rounds
200rds handgun ammo
Eye and ear protection
Hat with front brim. If you prefer a helmet, then wear it.
If you would normally use body armor, plates, vest, carrier, etc., then wear it.
Plenty of water
*All of the gear on your person must be retained during strenuous exercise

The course is limited to 20 students.

Course fee is $300 paid in advance. We accept checks, money orders, cash and discrete PayPal (you pay the 3.5% fees, no "gifts" please). Your spot is not guaranteed until your course fee is received.

Semper Fi!

This is definitely one of my favorite courses to run, and by far the most difficult. We do a Round Robin format and it takes 4 Instructors to pull it off. Additionally, I have to supply numerous props and several firearms with ammo. It’s definitely a one-of-a-kind training opportunity.

I would say to those of you who think you are ready for a gunfight, you probably are not. This class is tough from a physical standpoint. With your heart beating 120-140 bpm you will see just how good (or poor) you are at shot placement in a stressful situation (which is the point). It is tough.
Imagine an active shooter situation as a civilian. Your heart will be beating out of your chest and your blood stream will be full of adrenaline. Shep and his guys do a great job of stressing your body and then you shoot and make decisions in that amped up state. Simple things become a challenge at that point.
I highly recommend this course for those who like a challenge.
