This would be convenient but many people are open to a trade or sale, so I don’t know how well it would work.

I know it’s an old thread but this is what I do. Say I open handguns in the classified section. I go over the the search bar on the right side of the page and type in FT and hit search. It gives me every handgun that is offered up for trade.

An Advanced Search option, where you can look for content in different fields, might help.
But I don't know how easy that be in the site's system.
It would also require consistent ad formatting.
