Why is this in Area 51? Im pretty sure the caldera under the park, if it blows like it has in the past would be catastrophic. Its a plume volcano and not a fault line volcano.

You learned how to plot fallout yet? I wonder if prevaling winds would be enough to determine where that big of an ash cloud would go.

Probably the same kind of plume that a nuclear power plant would make. A "key hole" plume that disperses the ash from the source by the jet stream to the east coast. As far as lava flow, if you look at the geology you can see many flows from that same plume, as the tectonic plate moves over it, it deposits lava rock etc.
I would bet my money that it would be safer in Washington or Oregon versus GA/Southeast

Its like any other mass disruptive event, people prepare for it as a fear coping mechanism, even if the probabilities are small. And then you have the escapist fantasies where the true impact isn't considered.
