Anybody else use trail cams as security/surveillance? I picked up a few extra for a good deal and im looking for advice. I live in a developed neighborhood, so im not that worried about 4 legged wildlife triggering them.

Not a bad idea. Make sure to set them where they are hard to notice, and not accessible.

If they flash or redlight at night, folks may steal them, or smash them for the sd-card.

Good point. Thanks. Theres a few good spots that are mostly obscured by bushes that I can cut a hole through.

I’ve set them up to catch poachers. Consider having one obvious and one camouflaged aiming at the first. If someone gets it, you may get video of the thief.

Another good idea. Im glad I asked this question lol. Even spotting an obvious one might be enough of a deterrent.

I do this too. Usually the sacrifice cam is junk. The secondary cam is elevated where they cant easily reach it. Nowadays a guy can use the cell cams and be notified immediately.
