If you are hiking or backpacking in the woods you would of course carry it assembled,
but what if you decide to detour off the trail and go into a town to get supplies, do laundry, maybe stay a night in a hotel?
Then you'd want to keep that long gun out of sight, fully inside your backpack.

Skinner sights make it a dream to shoot.

Mine is the Alaskan Takedown, got it for a lot less than what they show there.
