As I mentioned, it's all about your personal portfolio diversification. Yes, my 401k is down 5% after last week, which isn't bad all things considered. I'm doing an early retirement June 30. I won't be touching those funds for at least 5 years, so no worries, that loss will rebound in that time.Why in the hell would someone looking to retire this year still have funds in a place that was bound to drop like a rock?
It's more of a problem if you're 65 and still heavy into equities right now.
