There are probably more than a few pending retirements that just got extended for a while.

Not me. June 30th is the date. My portfolio allocation has been in place for 2 years to protect from this madness. I'm down $20k or so, otherwise, I'm buying after today is over.

If your cost of living goes up to the point that you have to pay more for your day to day therefore leaving you with less money than you had when you were paying income tax, would that be winning?

I would love to see income tax go away and keep more of my money. We shall see if both things are compatible I guess.

Maybe. It's a storm I can weather, but if I think forward, the young men in my family will benefit more in the long run from our historically rotten trade imbalances being righted. Either way, if I'm paying needless, extra money, I'd rather it be semi-voluntary instead of under government duress.

That's even assuming this all builds toward reducing the debt to a point where no federal income tax is feasible. I don't trust Donald Trump, but that's my standard for all politicians. Time will tell.
