Tattoos in the real world

My little bit of ink means something to me and you are right, Hoss, it is a bit insulting to call someone with tats an attention whore.

It's individuals that are just ignorant, they may assume all they want and I'll keep doing me. More often than not I'll be stopped and people will ask what they stand for and a reason I chose a certain things. Easily more complements than negative.

Mine are essentially just my life's lessons, trials and tribulations, honors to the fallen I've fought next to.

They aren't for everyone, but the craze is catching on! My 52 year old mother got her first on her 50th birthday!

That is awesome!

Don't get out of a nice car with a pistol on your side and tattoos! You're instantly deemed as a drug dealer around here.

Lol... I have a buddy (lookup "Joe the Peacock") that has more tats than anyone I've ever met. He is a writer, cartoonist, columnist and website co-founder. He shows his proudly. I have a few but they have very special significance to me.

If you are my mechanic or the guy stocking groceries at the store I wouldn't think twice about it. If your were my kids pediatrician or my banker I would probably be looking long and hard at you. I don't see many well educated or professionally successful people with full sleeves. When I see an arm full of tattoos I immediately think you are someone who lives on the fringe of society.

Good luck in your job search. Thank you for your service.

Pics or it didn't happen. :)

I work at Delta (a pretty big company).. and they have a "tattoo policy" but I think that only applies to corporate. I work in TechOps, and I know at least 10 guys with full sleeves.

Edit: I personally don't have any, only because I just can't decide on something with real meaning that I won't regret a year from now. I have no problem with them though.
