If you own a Taurus firearm, I'm sorry. You could've spent a little more and purchased quality, but that price just roped you in, didn't it? I'm prepared for the "my uncle fudd has one with 3 bajillion rounds through it and never jammed." Good for him. He probably also dated his cousin at some point in his life, but no one ever brings that up. "But it was made on Smith and Wesson tooling". That window tastes goooood, doesn't it? Keep licking it little buddy. No, they aren't. They shared designs in the early 70s because they were owned by the same parent company. Their designs are very similar in their revolvers for this reason. The major difference is I can get parts for a Smith. Spend hours on hold, four emails, and still haven't been able to get a single part for a Taurus. Know how I finally got a live person on the phone? Accessed their corporate directory and just start dialing random extensions. I think I talked to a confused HR rep, but still no parts! I promise you, I will never have another Taurus in my shop. I won't Cerakote them, I won't clean them, I won't even consider looking at it. Something as simple as a missing screw will turn into HOURS of frustration. Save your money and buy a Hi Point if you can't afford more. At least they will answer the damn phone.

I also have a couple Taurus's and the only one that I had that had problems was the PT22, even after it was supposedly repaired at the factory. It's constantly jamming, even with CCI ammo which they recommended to me.

I bought a PT111 Millennium from Adventure Outdoors in 2000. EVERY time the gun was fired the magazine dropped straight out the bottom. Even when you made sure your hand wasn't on the release. It had other problems like firing when dropped and eventually got recalled. I sent it back and they sent me a G2 Millennium that has much better options, functions better and is an all-round good shooter. Don't know if I've ever go out and look for another Taurus, but I'll keep this one because it's good.

And, speaking of Smith and Wesson.....I bought a VERY expensive Model 22 (replica of the 1917 DA 45 revolver I also have) and they OMITTED the final production step - missing the pistol butt lanyard ring - didn't even drill the hole. I made Adventure Outdoors send it back for them to complete what they didn't do.... Oh...and also bought a JM 625 that progressively had its spindle loosen during firing to where the cylinder locked up and wouldn't even turn...had to figure that one out myself and fix it because I didn't wanna wait three months again to get it back...

All I'm saying is that the name doesn't always match up with history.

Had a guy give me a blown up .38 in the 80’s- sent it to Taurus and they set me a new pistol. Sold it within a week- only one I’ve ever had.

Many years ago I found a deal on a Taurus Millennium Pro .45ACP.
Loaded the mags to 10 Rd max and it would not pick up the cartridge using either mag. If loaded to 8 rounds there are no problems. Called Taurus and they said was probably a mag problem and sent two new mags. I tried the new mags and it did the same.
I would never trust my life on that pistol.

Another "block fanatic"?

I bought a 24/7 pro a couple years back, it shot flawlessly for the first couple years then it started with a feeding issue. I sent the gun back four times and they finally sent a new gun. I sold it without ever chambering a round! Bought a Glock and never looked back! Never a taurus !!!
