In a situation where seconds count I will trust my life with a revolver period.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but a large majority of our military and leo disagree with you...... and they actually depend on their firearms on a regular basis.

I'm pretty certain that the gun itself matters just a LOT more than the terminal ballistics. You can have the biggest caliber with gee-whiz-bang, uber-expanding, physics defying technology, but unless the gun will feed and fire it reliably it is useless. A gun with cast lead bullets, or even a reliable 22LR handgun would trump a trouble prone gun with the "right" ammo. Going bang every time, and having the ability to deliver multiple rounds is more important if you apply logical thought.
